Nope, it's a method of feeding the tree itself IIRC. Somewhere, in a
magazine, I've read the article. Not terribly efficient as you might
expect. I'm thinking it was one of those 'when all else fails, use a
tree' type of things. Not to be confused with today's cell tower
pseudo-trees, of course.
Hopefully someone will recall the mag it was in or have actual mil
documentation. Might've been in PopComm, QST, just can't remember.
I bet Hue knows....
