[Milsurplus] Mica capacitors?

I just took a look through last year's Allied catalog. Nothing listed above
500 volts for mica. Best bet (at least from that source) appears to be
temperature and voltage stabilized ceramic. .0033/1KV is listed. Price today
probably around 50 cents each. Unfortunately they are only available in radial
lead but in some applications that will fit OK.
Suggest you avoid orange drops for anything. Anytime I see one of those in a
vintage military set, I automatically assume modifications and butchery.
They only belong in PC board equipped late 50's and early 60's TV's. :-)
For replacing paper dielectric capacitors, I usually use metalized polyester.
Easily found in axial lead and usually in both round and flat. The 630 volt
units are typically similar in size to the original 250-300 volt ones.
