Wasn't the original about running the receiver
on half of the H.V. from running on 1/2 primary
to the dynamotor?

I would say that would work IF you rewire or
retube to use 12.6vdc for filaments.

I did an accidental "test" of this phenomenon w/my TCS-8 last month. Bumped
the filament voltage switch on the home brew PSU I use down to 6 from 12V.
Thing was dead as a post. I was using it w/an ARC-5 R-23 Q5'er. Thought I
had a blown IF transformer due to excess operator headspace (Thanks,
Bob....HA!). Could hear band switch clicks and nothing else. Spent a week
checking components under the chassis to no avail. Threw the switch and it
sprang to life. Murphy was kind.
