That almost makes it sound like the AN/GRC-9 saw significant actual service use. Somehow, I never thought there was much real military purpose to the AN/GRC-9, once reliable low-band VHF FM began to dominate tactical communications (which was right at the time that the AN/GRC-9 first appeared).
I do like the AN/GRC-9 (much better than the ever-popular AN/GRC-109), but where and why would the military have actually used it, even during the Korean War?
