While we're dumping on them,  i'd like to ask this: isn't the 
modern paint, even IF the colors are realistic, just a little
too shiny?  
BTW, i don't think "usable" planes in the Pacific theater 
were pushed overboard on carriers, at least like-new
planes. I just read that the planes were flown off to 
land fields, to make room for returning servicepeople.
