There's a good reason for the condition of that particular rig: it's
on a partially-submerged old ferry or fireboat in the boat graveyard
off Staten Island. The site it's listed on is run by a group of folks
who go around exploring and photographing old, abandoned sites. Not
unlike the way many of us attend hamfests or military meets, I
suppose.
