As you know, I'm a partizan for the SCR-288.
It doesn't get the respect it deserves.
Contrary to myth, it was indeed deployed early in
the Pacific theater (found first-tier documentation
which I wrote about some time ago).
They were short on the SCR-284s, which were all going
to the ETO.  1942-43, the khaki boys in the Pacific
got the old "limited standard" equipment until
needs under the "Germany first" policy were met.
