OK. I have decided that if there is any way possible, I would love to
have the subject transmitter.

So, I am asking the collective wisdom what might be a fair price to offer
the heiress for it.

If you don't remember what it is about, I will quickly refresh the memory
banks:

As far as I have been able to determine, it is complete, but has not
been used in quite some time. It is extremely dirty inside.

The power supply has also been converted from 220/440 3 phase input
to 220 VAC single-phase by a previous Navy MARS member in 1984,
who used it regularly on the air at that time.

I have the original manual for it, along with one of those thick card-
stock Quick Setup Guides.

It resides, at the moment, not over 4 miles from my home in a heated
garage.

It would require considerable cleaning up, then trouble-shooting to get
it back on the air.

Also, my dear wife is going to Illinois soon to visit her aged mother, so I
will have a "window of opportunity" so to speak. :-)

Any advice and suggestions from you all would be greatly appreciated.
