Rob,
I don't have and have never seen any of the hardware, but I have three
manuals on BC-1016. The first two are TM 11-441, dated 06 May 1943 and 25 October
1943. The third is TM 11-4051 dated 04 January 1946. The first two are (of
course, from the numbers) combined Operator's and Maintenance manuals. The
latter is the Repair Manual. Beyond the earliest TM publication date, I have no
other indication of date it went into service. The earliest manual does not
mention an earlier edition that it superceded.
The speed capability given is up to 400 WPM. There is no associated
equipment (other than spares and supplies in the form of pens, ink and 3/8" wide paper
tape). All mention of signal sources is generic. I.e., no specific
equipment nomenclature is given, only required technical specifications.
I can send you a couple of scanned photos from the Repair Manual.
