Once again its time for the Dayton Hamfest, and for the last several
years now their has been a Mil radio net on Saturday. With an AM 3885
KHz net at noon local time and my favorite the "Cold War Net" on
51.0 MHz at 1400 hours local. Highlights of last year Am net have to be
Joe Munson (WA4VAG) Net control with his vintage AVR set, and the group
of at least a dozen 611s that check in, I would speculate that more 611
radios are in use for this net then anywhere else. Myself I was using my
TBX, oddly enough I do not think we have had a signal WS yet? There is
always at least twenty to twenty five stations for the cold war net,
with everything from PRC six, twelve's and newer radios like twenty
fives and sixty-eighths. I will be using my Russian R-107 again this
year, cold war goes both ways. I hope to see you their!
