If it is any help, I have photos of the MB-NOM-12 (the first of the series of 
NAVY/USMC radio jeeps) in:

 Melbourne, Australia on September 1, 1943

Guadalcanal on September 11, 1943 

Tarawa in January 1944

The jeeps in the photographs noted above had the TCS. My information to date 
shows these jeeps were produced no earlier than May 1943. Took a while for 
them to get into the PTO.
