Although as much as I would like to prove otherwise, I have to admit
that I have no hard written evidence to support use of the TBX beyond
Tarawa. Have been spending lots of time reading accounts and reports
that appear on the web and thought their was a case to support
deployment of the TBX 8 but after reviewing many sites cannot find
conclusive evidence of this. Undoubtedly this is what happens when too
much is surmised from Internet only sources. I will speculate that the
jeep mounted TCS series replaced the TBX in field operations where
possible. This is biased on both Internet posted accounts and written
information, " The Technical Services" and the like.
