FWIW (not much), i recall that U-505 in Chicago had 2 LF receivers in the radio
room. I seem to recall it's hard to see in there, but it was semi-open when i was
there for some "Put Submarines on the air" silly special-event station.  All the
HF gear was gone. The passive sonar thing, about the size and appearance
( in the murky dark ) of a USN TBX radio. The 2 LF receivers, i don't recall
if they were EP2, but they had to be, or a close variant, this is the tombstone
shaped receiver with a 270 degree ( or so ) frequency markings and dial right
on the front panel (if that makes sense, my description that is ).  -Hue Miller
