My manuals are in another city, about a 6 hour drive away, so not so handy.
I don't know if i even have a TCS-12 manual.
The selectivity specs you quote really surprise me. But, i definitely
remember the material in the TCS-5 manual about the mobile selectivity.
I wonder now, since your TCS-5 manual doesn't seem to have this,
and i'm sure if you had seen it you would have mentioned it, i wonder
if it's only a certain range of SN's in the TCS-5 ??? The -12 selectivity
you quote sounds like - and this was YEARS ago i looked at this - the
"wide TCS-5" selectivity i remember from the TCS-5 manual. ( I remember
being apalled enuff that i decided if i ever got another TCS set, to avoid
this particular model. )

The better selectivity of the -5 versus the -12 you quote reminds me of
a full-page FAIR ad in an olde CQ, which said something about the
late version -12 ( or was it -13 ? ) was "extra desirable for CW". But
i never saw any difference in the circuit schematic except for how the
antenna current meter was wired. -Hue Miller
