Yes there is - look at our Uncle Sam. For a while he was packing things in
steel boxes, soldered shut (just post WW2 Navy was good at this), but the
cigar goes to the Signal Corps. In a large stash of IN-83 insulator beads
I once had (these are the beads for insulating the antenna leadins for
aircraft radio sets, like the SCR-274N), most of the little things were
simply packaged 12 to a small envelope. Perfectly fine, efficient packing
for the 1/4 inch long beads. But then I had some that were *individually*
double boxed, wrapped, and sealed. THAT is overkill.
