[Milsurplus] Packing materials for shipping your treasures

I mentioned foam sheeting in a previous post. It was correctly pointed out this material is available with varying degrees of "give"/softness. The stiffer material I use as "outer" layers (when available), the softer material, closer to the radio. The radio itself should/may be wrapped in foam rubber and a 'couple' layers of bubble-wrap.(And possibly a thin layer of peanuts between the foam sheeting and the radio/equipment.) A good bubble-wrap job also provides moisture protection should your treasure be left on the step in the rain. In short, a "multi-material packing strategy" may be required to ensure intact delivery. I am in complete agreement - there is no such thing as "over-packing". Bill KA3AIS
