[Milsurplus] E-bay / a work of genius

There were forms of online rating before eBay. There is a problem with
their implementation, which is "retaliatory" negative feedback which they
allow. So, for someone like me with a good score, do I risk it by giving
honest negative feedback? I did that once and that is my sole negative.
I don't like the shipping/handling charges either but remember that most
sellers are not companies and so must find or purchase boxes and packing
materials, then must drive to a UPS shipper or pay a premium for pickup (and
UPS will only pick up for express shipments). Be realistic, those are all
time consuming and cost money. That makes it uneconomical for me to sell
small items. Also note that the UPS insurance will weasel out of paying if
you reused a box, it must be new and have certain specifications. I pack
well, I even went to their "school" on commercial packing many years ago,
but was recently given a really hard time on a claim where a double-boxed
package was demolished because I used a perfectly fine used box. I'd love
to go to court on that one - let them say with a straight face that *any*
box could have survived, but who has the time or money to waste going to
court? And they know this.
