I might as well throw in my $.02 worth in here, since I was deeply involved in the 2-way mobile business back then. In the 1960s and '70s, mobile radio was still a booming, expanding business. Lots of folks wanted in. When Hammarlund moved to Mars Hill, NC, they established the Outercomm division to compete in the mobile radio business. Few examples of Outercomm radios survive, but they did make hand held radios, just like everyone else did. As with Motorola, GE, RCA, etc., they started with separate transmitters and receivers, and this may well be one of those. Hard to tell from the photos. Someone buy it and tell us.
