   In the classic auto restoration trades, there are sold solid-state 
replacement 'vibrators' - 6 and 12V - in a can with the correct pin basing 
- just plug it in place of the failed electro-mechanical unit.

    One of the companies is in Florida - I'm not close to my paperwork on 
this right now, but I've fixed a couple of ancient tube car radios and 
used these -
