When I went through Navigator training
in 1961, all students had to be able to do
5 wpm. I sort of doubt that any 20 wpm
requirement existed for aircrew other than
the radio op (if even that).

a SK ham friend of mine was in WWII as a fighter
pilot....he told me that Pilots were require to be
able to send and receive 20 words per minute.....also
new a fellow that was a bomber pilot in WWII he told
me the same thing.....I wonder if this
