I built a 400 Hz power supply using a woofer/amp for a PC and a 400 Hz sine wave generator. I got about 30 watts out of it which was enough to run the synchros I was using. Total cost was only about $10.00 because I got the woofer/amplifier used at a computer surplus store. Buy the type with the built in power supply instead of the wall wart
