No SSB outa BC-610 unless 250th re-biased to run class B rather than C.
And that's pretty major, tho filament chokes & grounded grid wud be
the short-cut.

If you want to drive it with an xcvr for improved stability, here's how
I actually went to the book & found the 1st rf stage, a 6V6 (vt107),
is a tri-tet oscillator when xtal selected. So both sides of the xtal
float above ground.

First put in an xtal & with ur RF voltmeter measure Vrf across xtal.
Probably 10V rms or so.

Then wind an rf isolation xfrmr - maybe 20 turns small speaker wire
on a red T-200 core (overkill, that size). One wdg. between ground & ur
xcvr. Swamp w. a 10W non-inductive resistor.* Other wdg. to xtal terminals
on 610 TU.

Dial up 2w fm xcvr & you'll have 10W going into that 6V6 & power dissapated
by that resistor

Hope that's understandable & it helps

  Marty

*say five 270 ohm 2W resistors in parallel- close enuf for this govt. jobbie
