            Project Diana

The Ocean-Monmouth Amateur Radio Club will have a special event station
on the air the Saturday January 15, 2005 to celebrate the 59th
anniversary of the first E.M.E. ( moon bounce). Project Diana was the
first attempt to bounce a Radar Signal off the moon and receive it. By
doing so it proved that space communications were possible. The Event
Station will be operating from the Camp Evans Area of Fort Monmouth. This
area is now being turn over to the Township of Wall and is being operated
by the Infoage Science-History Learning Center and other Groups who have
taken on the job of preserving our Electronic and Communation History.
For more information please point your Web browser to
www.infoage.org/diana.html or www.omarc.org. Operation of the Special
Event Station will be from 14:00 Z 1/15 to 00:00 Z 1/16 using CW and SSB
in the General and Novice/Technician Sub Bands signing the call sign
N2MO. The club would really be pleased to here from former military and
civilian personal who had worked at the Evans Area or at Fort Monmouth.
