Pyranol was GE's trade name for their version, and IIRC, they originally introduced it to the industry.  State of NY is still sueing them about contamination of silt in the Hudson, from NYC up to the old facilities.  

I should Google this, but what kind of test was used to ID PCB contamination?  Had to be not simple to determine PPB levels of concentration?
