I'm not familiar with that specific unit, so some general comments.  Usually the worm gear drives a so called anti-backlash gear which is two gears face to face.  One is attached to the driven shaft, the other has a limited range of rotational movement, but the spring you found will go in two holes, one in each gear, and apply force to tighten the mesh of the gears against the worm, the fixed from one direction, the spring loaded one from the other.
