Leigh,

800 and 400 CPS inverters were put on airplanes to run whatever equipment 
aboard needed AC of that frequency, rather than in general being associated with 
any one piece of radio or radar equiipment.  Another set using 120 VAC @ 800 
CPS was the Model GP series transmitters, GP-6 and GP-7 being the most commonly 
seen.
