Not me. I got my novice back in 58 and used a TCS transmitter and
receiver for my station. WHat, i can't use a VFO? Another story......
There were to many other resources that were healable on the radio/TV so
if anything happened i suspected that when they went off the air i
probably ought to do the same thing till i found out what was going on.
But overall, it wasn't a concern. WHo wants to bomb a little tiny
village out in the middle of the mountains who's net worth might have
been $500? Just a guess of course. 25 watts or less into a dummy load
wasn't going to be heard very far i figured.

ALong the same line, I joined a group of people who manned a watch tower
out in the mountains and reported via telephone to someplace/ possibly
Norton AFB in San Bernadino all over flying small or low flying
aircraft. We lived in this mountain community east of San Diego and was
more of less the main flight path to and from there going east/west. I
don't remember the name of the outfit but it was fun. Anyone else ever
part of that type an organization. THis was 56-59 time frame. I don't
remember if it was part of a CD organization or just what.
