The third, 0.1 group are the remaining AM operators.

I have some AM gear for 6 and 2 meters, Johnson 6N2/Ranger, Heath Seneca
for 6&2, DuoBander 6&2, a couple Gonsets and some Mil equipment. At one of
our West Coast Military Radio get-togethers Dennis W7QHO, Hank W6DJX, and
Doug WA6VOV brought (in order) an SCR-522, VHF ARC-5, VHF ARC-5. It was
neat, the early airborn VHF talking to each other. I guess the working 2
meter AM spot is 144.450. I have an SCR-522 up to go, one in work, and an
ARC_3 in work. Brian Carling AF4K sells FT243 xtals that work for these sets
and given the 'barn door' bandpass they can get close enuff. If you look up
W7QHO on QRZ you can see his SCR-522. It seems these early VHF rigs are
unloved orphans and not sought after so who knows...perhaps it can be the
start of another BoatAnchor niche ~8^)

ps: I worked on depot level repair of AN/ARC-27s back in the early '70s,
second shift 6 days a week. Probably can still bend tabs in my sleep.
