Larry,

One of the Changes in the front of the manual addresses the Order Number at 
which the switch replaced the speaker jack, and gives a few details.  My 
R-388/URR (which does have its original nameplate) was made subsequent to that Order 
and also has the switch.

I don't have the MWO, but it applies to the AN/GRC-26A (from the number - TM 
11-264A is the TM for the GRC-26A).  DA PAM 310-4 (11/58) says "Modification 
of radio set AN/GRC-26A to provide facilities for break-in operation".  So your 
receiver must be earlier than the Order mentioned above, and the MWO applies 
(mine doesn't have the MWO stamp).
