Thanks for the pinout, I'll parallel the coil with a variable capacitor and 
feed that
into a differential and see how high it resonates.

I don't know when G&G closed their doors. I tried calling them in the 1980's 
but never
got an answer. When I last visited in 1982, he wasn't actively open to the 
public.
I just took a chance and walked upstairs to 2nd floor on Warren street
and they were open. The original owner was there but wasn't very talkative;
the prices hadn't changed since I first visited in the 1960's. He had a 
worker
who was a ham from Brooklyn (I forgot the call). The worker was friendly
and I ended up chatting with him for a couple of hours.

I don't know about any warehouse. In the 1960's he had the showroom on the 
first floor
and storage on the second floor of the Warren Street address.  He moved here 
from Cortland street
 when the World Trade Center construction started.
