[Milsurplus] Old heavies as flit guns

Back in the mid-late 80s there was some outfit out of Boston (I think)
running freight to and from BTV with a fleet of 2-3 C-47s. They flew
over my folks' place regularly and I got to see them at the BTV
airport on a few ocassions, including an airshow. Best part was, they
were all in WWII paint w/D-Day stripes and US insignia.

Wonder if the one recently for sale in TX was one of these?

I'm with you, Marty - anytime I'm lucky enough to be outside when
something flies over with that sound, I drop what I'm doing and start
scanning the sky. You just know that someday people will be saying the
same thing about the commercial jets we take for granted now. SST is a
recent example, 707s before because they were 'too loud' for the
people who moved near an airport.
