Not really for subs but for detecting them, I have a little sonobuoy receiver 
test set TS-1506C/ARM-53 which was used with the ARR-52 and ARR-72 receivers. 
 From what I can tell this was used as part of the "Igloo White" program.  The 
test set is a synthesized, externally modualtable frequency generator, 
attenuator and noise generator with 32 channels from 162.25 to 173.5 MHz. 
Interesting piece of Vietnam-era electronic warfare history.
