As well, those who still have an active email address listed in the
header might not want it posted on a webpage some place where it could
be harvested. The ones I forwarded had all of the same information
(List Name, Date, etc) at the beginning of the main body as in the
original subject line. Not to mention just how long the email address
list was under 'To:'

Some very good jokes included with those posts. One I recall turning
blue over was Santa's reply to letters received.

That list was a very good source of information for specific things,
but set up completely different than what we're now used to. Asking a
question took days, and might not make it to the list. More of a
digest post, without headers. Maybe comparable to sitting down with a
good book as opposed to having a good conversation with fellow mil
surplus nuts.

We're so spoiled these days...
