[Milsurplus] AC Power Supply Continued

Some while back, there was some discussion
on the ARC-5 list regarding the VFO circuit.
If I remember correctly, the cathode/filament
lead of the oscillator tube passes through a part
of the oscillator coil. Might it be possible that
you may be "hum-modulating" the VFO output?
Your description of "really awful" did not give
specific symptoms.

The homebrew power supply fires up the T-19 but the signal is terrible.
Using a Heathkit power supply produces the same result. (B+ a little high
for my liking.) (Phoned friend up 200 miles away and listened over phone to
his receiver - confirmed really awful signal.)

I suspect an 0D3 regulating the B+ to the 1626 oscillator is making lots of
noise. Anyone had experience with this or know a fix?
