I nominate this one for the best story ever!!!
Wife Judy (KA5BJS, ex-WN6DFR) of almost
44 years thinks so, also.

About 45 years ago I was in L.A. Was doing a side job for a marine shop.
Needed some ceramic rotary switches. Called all over town and no supplier
had them in stock. Last resort, surplus. Walked into a small surplus store
on Washington Blvd, almost under the Long Beach Fwy. A slip of a girl was up
on a ladder putting up stock. I told her "{Sweetheart, if you can find me
these switches I will buy you the biggest steak in town." An hour later I
had my switches. That night she ordered shrimp. Took me a while to figure it
out. 45 years later we are still together and enjoying each others company.
Now, top that with a surplus store find!!!!!
Thanx
