A while ago I got a copy of the generic TEK 'scope trouble shooting manual
off the web, and had read it cover to cover a number of times.  It stresses
"milking" the front controls as one of the first steps for trouble shooting
just about any kind of fault.  Yesterday on start-up the trace on the 465M
was no where to be seen , so "milking the controls" was put into action.
The procedure worked a lot better than the manual indicated - when one of
the multi position levers was moved the trace re-appeared and the 'scope
works normally.  Obviously a dirty or corroded switch.  Good work TEK!
