This just made me realize that i've never ever seen a BC-348 (no suffix ), a BC-348-A,
or a BC-348-B, altho i have seen 2 of the BC-224-A (which looks quite different from
the later 224 and 348 we're used to. )  Are then these earliest versions of the -348
"super rare" ??  I have a couple of the BC-348-C,  which i prefer, no LF. 
R E Goodheart would have said, "USAAF 's  Pride - Special for SWLs and Hams".
