I don't know if the gear was originally spec'd for GWEN, but I see the
TACAMO birds every day as I drive to and from work: they're based at
Tinker, and the ones that aren't actually "working" are shooting
touch-and-go landings all day every day. Lots of iron in the air
around TAFB, there is.
And occasionally I get to see a B-1 or B-2 as well, since they're
maintained there.
A friend is a B-1 navigator. He tells me that at speed, flying low-
level, it's just useless to look out to one side or the other: the
terrain, even at a mile or two, is moving by too fast to be resolved.
