Eureka!!!!  Another 2-wdg sliding coil!

Band change knob ran a 2nd rotating shaft thru a pinion.  Shaft went
back to the "overpositor" & ran the mechanism. Unbelievable!

And to think it all arose from E. H. Scott's hot-air Navy sales pitch
of such extremes to avoid LO detection.
