[Milsurplus] Hamfest and other thoughts

Hi

Well at least from where I stand the ARC-5 receivers pretty much top 
the list.

I guess it would depend a lot on exactly how you count gear that was 
mostly used as a source of parts. The 610 transmitter tuning decks 
would go up pretty high on the list if you counted parting out   the 
same as massive mods.

Of course this was all gear that at least would up doing something 
useful. Straight from the military to melt down was by far the most 
common fate of most WWII stuff. The list of equipment that simply went 
from useful item to smelter is a *very* long one. If we were talking 
about airplanes or various categories of artillery what we call a 
"major butcher job" would be termed "a near perfect example".
