I had at one time the DW loop for the DZ, a longnecked version of the DZ. The long neck
was to raise the loop, apparently, to be outside the ceiling of the plane, while the amplifier
rested on equipment or on the operating table. What i still don't understand: the loop itself
is not faired (enclosed in streamlined enclosure, called "football". ) At 150 mph or so, the
speed (approx.) of a PBM, wouldn't swinging the loop around confront a whole lot of
wind resistance, turbulence. Certainly when at highway speed, i reach out my vehicle
window to adjust the mirror, i encounter a whole lot of wind buffeting.
I gave up thinking about getting a DZ, with regret, but realilizing i had enuff projects on
the plate, and swapped it for a DU.
