I found one AN/GRC-109A essentially complete except for G-43 at Dayton Hamvention five years ago for $150. I recall thinking at the time that that was a pretty decent (i.e., low) price. Five or six years ago you could still buy most of the items except the receiver at Fair Radio for about $30 a piece. Receivers (R-1004) have always been the hardest and most expensive items to acquire. The ebay place seems to be the best place to look nowadays, but prices for the same set pieces that I bought at Dayton will now likely run about $300 to $400 unless you're lucky.
It's a popular set, yet I don't really care much for it. To me the AN/GRC-9 is a more interesting set. Unfortunately we've got lots of testimonials about the service use of the AN/GRC-109, but little that I've ever seen about the service use of the AN/GRC-9.
