In the UK, a license was (is?) required for a radio and/or TV receiver. The Post
Office had (has) deector vans that go around looking for unlicensed sets. It's
certainly technically possible. Just think of what a new toy that would make for
the Feds here !! Flashing lights...  pull over...  you're busted for listning to
the wrong radio station.
