I am truly sorry that you have apparently bought one of
these pieces of overweight junk. They were excessed
about five years ago because parts were no longer available.
The manufacturer went bankrupt many years ago. I work
in the shop at the FAA depot where these were overhauled.
I can't begin to tell you how glad we were to see the
damned things tossed out. Grossly overweight, a killer of
batteries and audio output modules, non-availability of
transistors, etc. Close to 50 pounds to give 5 Watts of RF!!!

Hello-
I need the technical manual for the FAA VHF Maintenance Transceivers
FA-8960 / TRX-101 and the FA-8960A / TRX-101A. These are VHF AM aircraft
band synthesized transceivers produced by Oklahoma Aerotronics in the early
to mid 1970's.
Also, I am interested in any units, modules, etc. for sale. Thanks,
WA5THJ.
