hi group,
          here are some hints and tips about removing the front panel 
assembly from a TBY-2
the mic/phones and key sockets must have the nuts on the chassis side 
loosened first.

check for staking of the front side ring nut it might have 3 or 4 stake 
points,
use a Dremal tool or similar with a grinding tip with a point on it,
to remove the stake points.

to replace the transmitter and receiver tuning windows use a cd jewel 
case as the plastic is 1 mm [40 thou of inch] thick.

window size 35mm wide and 27 mm high.
use a nibbling tool to carefully cut out the windows from the plastic.
leaving a margin for error of 1/2mm.
file to pressfit size in the panel hole where the original celluloid was
.

the total removal of the front panel and separation of the front panel 
is left to the restorer to work out .
