I thought that #1 the -C model covered only SW freqs, no LF,
so there is less frequency range to be covered by each band.
This is certainly the way mine are, both models.

And #2, the gear ratios of dial mechanisms were designated by
the design specifications, and not subject to change.

Do you actually mean "dial markings, resolution" or "bandspread" ?
