Bob,

Probably used dry nitrogen.  I recall that on several ships we used it to 
pressurize the AN/WRT-1, AN/WRT-2 and the AN/SRA-22 antenna couplers.  First we 
would evacuate the units with a vacuum pump (to dry out the interior) and then 
fill with nitrogen.  I don't recall the pressure we were supposed to fill them 
to but it was fairly low, maybe around 20 psi.
