Ed,

The MBF was a lightweight variant to the TBS, used for convoys for comms 
between the merchants and the excort.  Input was 115 VAC/DC so usable on the older 
merchant vessels which were still mostly 115 VDC systems.  Competitor to the 
TBY (also available as 115 VAC/DC) for this service.  Apparently installed for 
the crossing and then removed.  

I have the NAVSHIPS.  Also have a radio but it's missing the front cover.  
Never played with it, though.  No one to talk to except Channel 2.
