Not so much "deep pockets", but the Japanese generally never buy junk. 
Because everyone has very little space for a collection, they tend to go 
for the better goods.

If you had a whole 300 cubic feet to dedicate for a collection, and that 
includes space to work and display the items, you might just want the best 
and nothing else.
