August Link is a collector extraordinaire. I have known him for well
over 25 years and have been out to see his collection on numerous
occasions. I also see him at the AWA meets when we attend them
simultaneously. While my main interest is WWI items and earlier I also
dabble in WWII military radios, especially the foreign ones. I have
been able to add numerous WWI vintage radios to my collection by
bartering with August. August has collected an enormous stockpile of
mint WWII radios over the years. Most still new in boxes. He started
years ago, when collecting WWII radios were not in style yet. Only hams
picked up WWII surplus to convert them. August is not a ham. $1400 for a
rare and mint condition radio of that vintage is not that much to a
serious collector. Just a few weeks ago I paid over $5000 for a
telegraph key on ebay. It was far from mint. August is thinning out his
collection, and at the rate he is doing it, it will take a long long
time. And, contrary to someone on here saying that he does not sell a
lot of his items due to the high start prices, he does sell almost all
of it. The few that have not met his minimums were inconsequential.
Again, August is a gentleman, and to me a very trustworthy friend. 73 -

What is the August Link collection? The auction copy implies the
collection is enormous.
